MAC Tan Pigment

I have had a sample of this pigment for about 2 years now, and used it very sparingly as I did not want it to run out. I finally managed to get to a MAC store a few weekends ago and purchased myself a full size of it! I wish I had just ordered it years earlier. I've worn this pigment every day since I bought it. Over different eyeshadow primers to give different colours. I absolutely love this pigment. It is so shimmery, such a gorgeous colour. Staying power is pretty much all day, it doesn't really budge until its taken off with an eye make up remover. It can be used for just a simple worn alone look, or i usually use Cork eyeshadow to blend out the edges a bit. I use it loose straight from the pot, or with a bit of MAC Fix+ to intensify the colour even more!
All in all just a lovely product. I love the MAC pigments as they last for such a long time, and I think it's good value for money.

Holy Grail: MakeUp Edition

l-r Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr - On and On Bronze. Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara, Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel, Accessorize Sweet Cheeks Cream Blush - Rose

I love the colour of this Color Tattoo! Its a gorgeous shimmery bronze that flatters every eye color. The staying power of this product is insane. Once its on, its on. No smudging, no fading, just on the eyelid until it is taken off! This is my first Color Tattoo I've tried, so I'm looking forward to trying some more out. I use the Real Techniques Detailer Brush to apply this, as it is precise and I can get it exactly where I want it to go. I use this on its own, or underneath eyeshadows to give them some staying power. I would highly recommend this colour, and it will never be far from my make up kit again.

Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara
There is no link for this, as I cannot find it on the Boots or Superdrug websites. Which makes me now think it has been discontinued. I am gutted! I absolutely love this mascara! The separation and length and volume it gives my eyelashes without giving me clumpy spider-lashes is so hard to find in a mascara! I have not managed to find it in any Boots, any Superdrug, nowhere  If anyone has seen this for sale, please let me know, as the tube is coming into its last legs!

This probably appears in a lot of peoples Holy Grail list. I just love the easiness and simpleness of application, whilst it gives you either a subtle bronzed glow all over, or beautifully contoured cheekbones. It seems to match my skin tone perfectly, it's not too orange, it's not too ashy, just right on my skin. I apply it in the hollows of my cheeks with the Real Techniques Contour Brush, and it just goes on like a dream. Completely worth the £31.00 for it, and it comes in the gorgeous Chanel packaging!

This cream blusher is a gorgeous colour for perfectly flushed cheeks. I prefer a cream blush over a powder blush now, liking the glowy look it gives my dry skin. The price of this blush is so good considering the amount of product you get and the staying power of this. I love mixing high street with more designer brands on my face as sometimes the high street wins more often. The colour of this blush is natural and simple, and perfect for a working day. I apply this using my MAC 168, as that is the brush I have to hand at the moment! It applies evenly, and not too much product at once.

Tuesday

Models Own Pink Punch

Excuse the cuticles and the non-clean up, but I had to take photos of this as soon as I applied this gorgeous polish!
I really don't think the pictures do it justice, but with around 50 photos I took this morning, this was the best I could come up with! I'm still learning to capture the best photographs!

Anyway, onto the polish!

Models Own Pink Punch is a punchy pink neon! I own many neon colours, and from many brands, but Models Own seem to be the one that nail (erm.. pun intended!) it every time, yet I have never owned a neon like this! It was a dull and dreary grey day in Hampshire today, but whenever I looked down at my nails, a little bit of summer shone back at me!
They say the specially frosted bottles are able to be kept refrigerated to keep the intense fluoro colour! So in my fridge it will go!
This was applied in two, easy peasey coats. It dries matte, but I love a glossy neon, so I put my Sally Hansen insta-dri top coat on, to add the shine, and quick dry time.
I am definitely going to go back and get the rest of this neon range, as I am quite partial to the Toxic Apple neon green they have available.
At £5 a bottle, this is seriously worth the money, and perfect for the (hopeful) summer we will have at some point!
What are your favourite summer nail polishes?

Thank you for reading!

Sunday Wishlist #6

I haven't done one of these in a while. I enjoy doing them! I love seeing what other people put in their wishlists so hopefully you all enjoy mine too!

I said only the other day I am coveting this like nobodys business! The way my skin felt after using the Body Polish was just so lovely, and I always feel using products that go hand in hand work better! I cannot wait to get my hands on a big bottle of this! A (large) Space NK order shall be in err.. order once pay day comes round again, or I shall just have to sweet talk the boyfriend!

Festival season is only around the corner, and my first one kicking it off this year will be the Isle of Wight festival. Anyone else going? I have been to festivals for 4 years or so now, always doing at least two, and still have never purchased these festival necessities! A good pair of Hunter wellies! These look good with pretty much anything, and keep your feet warm and dry from the inevitable rain and mud that will come at some point this year! Hopefully this year will be the year I finally get my Hunters!

I have been seeing this fragrance all over the blogosphere for a few weeks now, and really wanted to try it. I found it in Boots the other day and had many sprays from the tester bottle at the counter. It instantly transported me back to laying on a beach, with a large, cold mojito in hand, and the sound of the waves lapping at my feet. What a gorgeous smelling fragrance! I am so annoyed with myself I didn't just bite the bullet and buy myself a bottle of perfume, so I will just have to wait for pay day!

I had a pedicure over the weekend, and went for a completely different colour to what I normally do. I always go for bright corals or deep reds, but I wanted something different! So I went for this colour, Juicy Melon by Jessica. The beauty therapist said that it was the last bottle they had, but she would sell it to me for £5, I said no. Now I am regretting it! I wish I had just said yes, but I had put myself on a nail polish spending ban just that very afternoon. I think I will have to break the ban to get this gorgeous polish!

I have never owned a pair of hair straighteners. I bought my sister a pair of ghd's years ago, but never got round to getting myself a pair. I still use hers every time I want to do something with my hair, not the normal just wash it and blow dry it. The standard stylers, as they like to be called, would do me. No fancy limited edition, just the originals! It's my birthday coming up in two months so any of my friends and family reading this, here's a few ideas!

Kiehls Creme de Corps Soy Milk and Honey Body Polish

Kiehls Creme de Corps Soy Milk and Honey Body Polish £22.50 200ml

This luxurious creamy formula with Shea and Jojoba Butters and Sweet Almond Oil is blended with ground Luffa Fruit to exfoliate body skin without drying. With the addition of Pure Honey and Soy Milk Protein, our body polish nurtures skin, leaving it comfortably soft, smooth, and primed for moisturization.

This product pretty much does what it says on the bottle!
I first tried this about a month ago, and was swept away by the whole experience of it! Firstly, the smell is amazing, quite an almondy, honey, shea buttery smell.
Applying it on your skin is a dream, I thought the exfoliating bits in this polish would be rough on my skin, but its nothing like that! The exfoliating scrub is ground Luffa Fruit, which after some research, is a cucumber like fruit, and the fully developed fruit is the source of a loofah sponge.
It recommends you apply this in circular motions, upwards, to help circulation of the skin.
The feel of it on your skin is not harsh, like any other scrub I've tried. I used to love the Soap & Glory scrub, the one that smelt of citrus, but it was harsh and rough and drying on your skin, compared to this one.
This Kiehl's product, after being rinsed away, has left my skin so incredibly smooth, it's never felt anything like this before! It didn't dry my skin out, it kept it hydrated and moisturised after one day where I just forgot to apply moisturiser after. (Come on, we all do it sometimes!)
I just use a Body Shop Shea Butter moisturiser afterwards, but I am definitely going to invest in the iconic Kiehls Creme de Corps moisturiser. I seriously recommend this product for anyone that loves super soft skin. It does so well for exfoliating before tanning, and also taking old tan off. I really cannot say anything bad about this product! The price reflects in the luxuriousness of this product, but it seems like it could last a while, with 3-4 exfoliations a week!

Has anyone else tried this product, or anything more from the famous Creme de Corps range? What did you all think about it?
Thank you for reading!

Holy Grail: Lip Product Edition

l-r Revlon Lip Butter Strawberry Shortcake, Maybelline ColorSensational Electric Orange, Lime Crime Velvetines Suedeberry, Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector 04

This is the second tube of this lipstick I have now purchased and making my way through. In all honestly, I could have included many more Lip Butters, as they are so easy to apply, and all colours are gorgeous! This one is my favourite though as I love the Barbie pink colour it gives my lips. Who doesn't love a Barbie pink! It applies like a dream, I don't really need to use a mirror for this, which makes for a perfect handbag lipstick. The formula to the Lip Butters are so smooth and conditioning, I can't say anything bad about them!

I was a bit wary when buying this orange lipstick how well it would be received by my boyfriend! But when I applied it, I thought 'pah' I love it, and I don't care if no one else does! The colour is bright enough to be a bit out of my comfort zone, but subtle enough for me to really enjoy wearing it. The swatch on my hand doesn't do it justice, so maybe I will do a separate post with it swatched on my lips. Staying power on my lips is so good! I lasted a whole night out, drinking and talking and applied it just once, which for me is good going!

I don't think there is much to say about this product about how much I love this thing! I did a review on this product a little while ago, and I gushed over it enough in the post! I cannot wait for my Red Velvet to come in the post. I just love this product. It stays on like a dream. It just doesn't budge! I love the feel of it on my lips whilst I'm applying it and after its on my lips. Its just an amazing product. If you don't have it yet, I say purchase it. You won't be disappointed!

I have been looking for a light gloss, a kind of 'my lips but better' for a while now, and after reading a lot of reviews on this range from Clarins, I thought this would be the one! I went into John Lewis one day and they were having a price match, so I thought it was fate, it was meant to be! It was between 04 and another one, which I think was more peachy toned, but I love my pinks, so I settled on this one. I have probably worn it every day since I purchased it, it's such an easy colour to wear for work, and the longevity isn't too bad for a light gloss. Its not too sticky, but I can't say I really mind sticky glosses! I love this gloss and I hope it stays around for a while!

I hope you all enjoyed reading my Holy Grail: Lip Products Edition! I am enjoying writing these, and I think if anyone is in a bit of a writing slump, these are the best way to get out of it, and back into blogging! Thank you for reading!

Holy Grail: Skincare Edition

l-r: Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, Boots Botanics Facial Oil, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser

This post starts a new series I will be doing on my blog.

As you probably know I have been a bit away from my blog for almost 3 months. I started a new job in February, I am only just starting to get back into a routine with everything. I hope you all can forgive me, and enjoy the new posts.

First up is the Holy Grail: Skincare Edition. I decided to do a 'Holy Grail' series, as when I find a product I like, its rare I change it up. I have been using Origins, Liz Earle and Boots Botanics products for more than 4 years now.

I have been on the hunt for a face mask for a very long time, and after reading so many good things about this facial mask, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it.
I wish I had purchased it sooner, I just love everything about it!
The smell is divine, which is always a factor when you're going to be slathering it all over your face! The way it just sinks into your skin is so lovely as well. It has a very luxurious feel to it. I have found a winner with this face mask, I doubt I'll ever change it, unless god forbid it ever got discontinued! The feel of my skin when I wake up in the morning is just heavenly!

I bought this a few months ago when I read a review on a blog. I decided to go for it and purchase it, as it was actually half price at the time.
I had been toying with the idea of buying a facial oil for a while, and almost bought the Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate, but when I saw the price for this Boots Botanics one, I thought I'd just go for this one. The smell is so good! Its like a Terrys Chocolate Orange. I was sceptical at first, thinking it would just sit on my skin, but it sunk in so beautifully, and when I woke in the morning my skin felt so hydrated and fresh, I was sold!

I feel this product would appear on many people's Holy Grail list, as it is such a popular product. My mum got me into Liz Earle about 4 years ago, with this being my first purchase. I've never used anything else since. The smell is lovely! (Do you see a pattern forming!) And it feels so buttery across my skin. I love the cloth as I get a daily exfoliation from it. I feel I've been very lucky with my skin, and I want to carry on having good skin, so I'm not going to change it when I know it works!

Again, I have probably used this product for around 4 years now. I am happy with the way it hydrates and moisturises my skin, and I don't want to change products! Its just a lovely moisturiser for me, and it seems to last for so long, which easily outweighs the price you pay for it!

Well I hope you all enjoyed this first post from my Holy Grail series.
It's nice to be back in the swing of things, and hopefully this shall continue on!
Thank you for reading!

Moody Model H&M

Day time inside

Night time inside.

Day time inside.

The other night I asked my sister to pick me a nail polish, as we have so many and its hard to pick just one colour!
She chose me this one, Moody Model by H&M.
I've owned a few H&M polishes, and actually the quality I've found isn't that bad, for the price, which I think was either £1.99 or £2.99.

Very nice to apply to the nails, and opaque in two coats. I would say they are thicker coats than normal, but it needed to be a bit more gloopy on the nails, it was easier to apply that way.

In all of the pictures, I cannot get the right colour of the polish. These all show up more teal, but I would describe this polish as a forest green teal, if that would exist! The pictures are definitely showing up more blue, but either way, I think both colours are lovely! If you can still get your hands on this in an H&M, I would recommend it. The price alone is a massive factor, but they do a wide range of lovely colours!

Switching Over

Hello my lovely readers!

So not a post about a review or anything like that, but I am just writing to let you all now I have just signed up to Bloglovin'!

I love the fact I can catch up with all the blogs I follow on my iPhone as it is permanently attached to my hand!

Also love that they have made it so simple to move from Google Reader, as I panicked slightly when I thought to myself, how am I going to read all the blogs I follow!

Some exciting news, I am going to a Benefit event in Bournemouth to the launch of Fakeup. I am so excited about this, but nervous as I have never attended an event like this before. I will be sure to take my camera so I can take photos, and I am so excited to get through my wish list of Benefit products! Is anyone else going to this?

I am hopefully going to get round to taking some photos of products tomorrow and get them ready for the blog, so hopefully come Monday there will be a new post or two!

Take care!

Wednesday

Beyond Bronze by Fake Bake

I have had this for a while now, but rarely go anywhere where I feel I need a bit of colour on my skin!
I went out Saturday night into Bournemouth so wanted a bit of a tan to warm up my pale cold skin.
This product is so easy to use. The tan comes out of the tube very dark looking, but I just put a 20p size squidge on my tanning mitt, rub it in, and it comes out a lovely natural olive looking tan.
If you want to be still a bit lighter and less 'fake tan' then you only use one layer, if you want to be more tan and darker, I would say you could go for two or three.
I can't really say the smell of it is bad. Upon application it smells quite like a generic shower gel scent, but that fades to nothing. I didn't get any 'biscuity' smell, which is common in fake tanners.
It gave me a natural looking glow; I didn't want to over do it seeing as it is the dead of winter!
It lasted all night, and there was actually a tiny hint of colour after I showered the next morning.
I would recommend this product to friends. I don't find it too expensive for what it is, and the amount I used, I feel this will see me through to at least the summer! It seems to have a bit more of a luxurious quality to it, compared to the Rimmel instant tan I have used in the past.

That was one layer of tan in artificial light and no flash.

Tuesday

Lime Crime Velvetine

Lime Crime Velvetine 'Suedeberry'

I first saw this on a friends instagram and fell instantly in love. The colours looked so intense and beautiful and matte. I love a matte red, but never seem to get on with them.
I then had another friend order this colour, so I thought right, lets see what this is all about.

Oh. My. Word.
I don't think I could express my absolute love for this product enough!
This is the first Lime Crime product I've used. Probably because I thought it was just available in America. So my friend told me the link of where she got it and I naughtily ordered it!
I placed the order on Saturday, and received it first thing this morning, not bad for £2.99 p&p.

As soon as I was dressed and ready, I applied this beauty!
There are many plus sides to this gorgeous lipgloss.
The texture when you apply it is so smooth and silky, it just glides on, instead of other sticky glosses. It feels like it could be quite watery, and move about on the lip, but as soon as it's where you placed it, it does not budge!
It dries very quickly to the matte finish, and that's the colour you'll have on until you take it off. I think it has a very sweet smell, like toffee popcorn, as soon as you apply it, but that almost instantly wears off. Once it has dried, it has a bit of a sticky strange texture to it, but then it soon dries to an almost powdery feel on the lips, which is quite nice instead of, again, sticky lipglosses.

I had this on for a 45 minute car journey, talking a lot of the way, and then stopped for a quick coffee when we reached our destination. It stayed absolutely pristine. I think I could have left it, but after the coffee I did reapply again. Then my mother and I spent around 4 hours clothes shopping and then food shopping. After all that talking (and rain!) it was still as if I had just applied it a minute ago!

I reapplied when we got back in the car, and had about an hour round journey picking up my brother from uni, and then back home. I wish I hadn't really done that, as I went to the gym tonight, and didn't really want to test how it held up in a 45 minute spinning class!
It actually came off easy(ish). I had to use my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, then gently wiped away with a cotton wool pad, which also exfoliated my lips!

No flash. Artificial light.

No flash. Artificial light.

With flash. Artificial light.

I don't think I can sing this products praises any more. I was happy wearing this in public for so long, as normally with reds I get scared and take it off before I leave the house, as I worry about feathering, and it wearing off into the unsightly 'lipliner'.
Its a beautiful colour for day, but I would love to wear it on a night out as well.
The packaging is of the box and the tube itself are beautiful, and the sponge applicator makes it so easy to use, no faffing about with a lip brush or anything like that!

All in all, a tremendous 5 stars, 10 out of 10, massive thumbs up for this product. If anyone knows where I can get the Red Velvet colour in the UK, please let me know!! I would absolutely love to own both colours from this collection. I would recommend it for anyone who loves reds, loves mattes, or would like to branch out into reds or mattes. It's like nothing I've ever used, or heard about before.
Yeah, this is a good one!

Sunday Wishlist #4

The reviews I've read about this product! It makes me excited to save up and buy it! I was a big fan of Bad Gal Lash Mascara when I was a bit younger, but last time I bought it, I realised I didn't like big brushes. I find it so hard to find a good mascara, and normally I would be skeptical about paying so much for a mascara, and it doesn't deliver. I've seen the proof in every review and photo I've seen of this, so I can't wait to be able to afford it!

I got a Pot Rouge for Christmas from my sister, in Calypso Coral, and I love this product! I've never been a 'face' person, but since I've had this cream blush I've been spending more time on my face. I think I'd like to try a brighter colour as well, to get me through these horrible dull months! I've still not figured out the best way to apply this, I've just been using my fingers, but would like to invest in a brush. Can anyone recommend a brush to apply cream blush?

Again, I've read many reviews about this self-tanner, and none of them have been negative! We all want a bit of colour during this cold season, and self-tanning is the safest and easiest way of going about it. I think yes, it is pricey, but from what I've read, the price definitely reflects the quality of this product. Xen-Tan is a brand you can trust as well, so I am excited to try this out, hopefully soon! I hate being pale, and after living in a hot country for a year, where being tanned is necessary, I do miss having a nice deep colour!

I don't actually own any Nars products, but again I've always read and heard great things about this product. I think this is a Holy Grail for lots of people. Like I said earlier, I'm focusing more on my face at the moment, trying to get a flawless, contoured, highlighted complexion, and I think this would be the best place to start for the contouring! I will always use my MAC 168 to apply contour, as it fits in the hollows of the cheekbones so nicely.

That rounds up my 'wants' for this week! I'm finding it so hard at the moment not being able to just pop into Southampton and have a little spending spree, sometimes spending a day on your own shopping is such lovely therapy! But hopefully there are things in the pipeline, so fingers crossed I will be having an income again, soon, and I can treat myself to a bit of luxury once a month!
What are you all desiring at the moment?

Perfume Presents

This Christmas I got bought two beautiful perfumes.
I got Dolce & Gabbana Rose The One from my boyfriend, and Dior Miss Dior from my parents.

I've had the Dior perfume before, and absolutely love it. Such a classic smell for me. I always thought it smelt of the Soap and Glory original scent, but having the perfume back in my collection, I now know they smell nothing like each other! I have had the D&G perfume before, but just the original one. I don't think I would have chosen the rose fragrance if I was buying it myself, as the Rose would have put me off, but I am so glad I have it! They are both 30ml bottles.

I am awful at describing scents, so I am just going to say that I love both fragrances.
Miss Dior is a classic fragrance for me, and I would like to think it will always be in and out of my collection. The bottle as well is beautiful, with the little bow on the lid.
Rose The One is a stunning scent, it's got the same tone as the original The One, but the freshness of the rose lifts the perfume.
Both gorgeous scents, and these will last until next Christmas now, where I hope I get new ones! I will always be happy to receive perfume as presents, as I don't think it's something you really buy yourself!

Miss Dior is a chypre that develops step by step. It glides from the sharp charm of a fresh, fruity, citrus prelude into blossoming floral nothes, the on to the noble elegance of patchouli, before finally concluding with musk, the last trace of memory.

Dolce & Gabbana gives it's smoudleringly sensual The One scent a rose twist. Destined to become a floral classic, the completely feminine yet effortlessly sexy signature is perfectly captures in Scarlett Johansson, the face of the fragrance. Top notes: pink grapefruit, mandarin and cassis. Middle notes: Bulgarian rose, peony, lily and lychee. Base note: vanilla, musk and amber.

What perfumes are you all using at the moment?

Gosh Holo

549 Holographic Hero - GOSH

It is my first holo so I can't have too much to compare it to. I will say the downfall of it is the wetness of application, if that makes sense! It just seemed to move all over the nail unless a tiny bit was used. Another bad side is that you really need to take care covering the whole nail, I've just seen on my right thumb nail that on the side it looks like only one coat, and although the polish is covering it, you can still see a bit of the nail.
The plus side is the colour! I've always wanted to own a holo, and when I was looking into it, I saw there were so many variations! I think this is a standard silver one, with the rainbow in it! Its such a gorgeous holo and everything I expected. I'm pleased with the colour, and I'm not expecting a long wearing polish. Even on the lid it says 'One Night Wear for Holographic Lovers'.
I would give this a thumbs up if you're looking for a standard holo!
I can't find it on the Superdrug website, where I bought it from, but I know I got the last one in my local one, so maybe it was LE? And I can't for the life of me remember how much it was!

Small Update!

Hello Readers!
I know it's been a while since I've posted, but it's hard to think about what to write when I'm not purchasing any new things, so can't do reviews and such!
And I don't feel I can clog my blog with stock pictures of wishlists and outfit ideas, as I don't think that's too interesting to read!
So bear with me everyone, and blogging shall resume soon!
Take care!
